The 2016 Superintendent’s Scholarship of $1,000 shall be awarded to a Daniel Boone Area School District graduating senior who plans to continue their education at a university, community college or technical institution.
The 2016 Superintendent’s Scholarship candidates must complete the application and submit it along with all other required supporting documents. The review committee will take every aspect of the packet you submit into consideration. While reviewing your application, essay, recommendations and grades, the committee wants to feel like they really know who you are and how your journey has brought you to where you are today, as well as your potential for future success.
Areas of focus are:
- Academic performance
- Demonstrated leadership
- Community involvement
- Extracurricular activities
- Special talents or unique endeavors
- Future educational and career plans
Letters of Recommendation
Please include three (3) Letters of Recommendation with your application. Letters may be written by your teachers, principals, coaches, advisers, or other individuals involved in your school career.
The essay must be a refined piece of writing equal in quality to an essay you would send to a college. Your essay needs to be reflective of your personality, successes and aspirations. You should have it proofread and adhere to all good practices of grammar and writing. Essay topic: “Lessons I’ve learned in life during high school and how they will impact my future career goals and life aspirations.”
