Daniel Boone Area School District is excited to offer students in grades K – 12 an iPad to use at school and at home at part of our 1:1 Digital Learning Initiative. An iPad is a powerful technology device. When each student has an iPad for his or her own use, the device can be personalized to meet individual interests and learning styles. Effective teaching and learning with iPads integrates technology into the curriculum anytime, anywhere. The device expands student opportunities to interact, collaborate, and publish with peers, experts, or others by utilizing a variety of digital tools and media

Device Management
-
The district has deployed a number of proactive management features to devices to ensure a safe user experience including:
Managed Apple ID
Used for backing up the device, and collaborating in Apple productivity apps. Managed Apple IDs cannot be used for app purchases, Apple Pay, Facetime, or other consumer Apple ID functions.
Managed App Portal
A District controlled self-service app portal is utilized for pushing out apps to students. The consumer app store is not available on devices. Students can only install applications published to the app portal. The app portal is currently generated by faculty member requests.
Web Filter App
The District web content filter is deployed to all devices. The filter prevents access to inappropriate content both in school and off-campus. This includes adult material, gambling, and/or violent material.
