We’re excited to welcome Dan Shank to our communications team! Dan will be helping bring you fun and engaging content in the coming weeks, including Throwback Thursday posts, Alumni Spotlights, and more.
Dan is a senior and plans to attend Penn State Main Campus after graduation, where he will study Communications. His very first post—featuring the Roosevelt High School alma mater—made its debut last week. We’re thrilled to have him on board and can’t wait to share his work with our community!
Welcome to the team, Dan! 👏

📸 Throwback Thursday: Birdsboro’s Second High School — The Roosevelt Building 🏫
Did you know that Birdsboro’s second high school had its own school song (pictured below)? 🎶
Built in 1927, the Roosevelt Building served as Birdsboro’s high school until 1955, when Amity, Union, and Birdsboro joined together. After that, it became the Daniel Boone Junior High School. The building was located just behind the original high school—the Washington Building—between Adams and Jefferson Streets on West 3rd Street.
Drop a comment if you remember this school song! 👇🎵
✨ Behind the Scenes: Our monthly Throwback Thursday posts are being created by our Communications Intern, senior Dan Shank. Dan enjoys research and interviews and is excited to hone his skills while working alongside our DB Communications Team.

Have a wonderful and restful holiday! 🦃 #BooneProud

Our middle school teachers and staff, the Aevidum Club at the high school, and Krise Transportation donated Thanksgiving meal baskets. In addition, our friends at St. Paul’s UCC Amity, St. Gabriel’s, St. Paul’s UCC Birdsboro, Christ UMC, St. Paul’s Lutheran, Immaculate Conception, and St. Mark’s provided gift cards to help families purchase groceries for the holiday.
We are so thankful for the generosity and support of our community — together, we’re helping make the holiday season brighter for our students and their families. 🦃💙
