#TBT to the Class of 1983 🎓 Straight from the yearbook: “FRIENDS—we have made it! Our metamorphosis is complete…” The Class of 1983 captured the very heart of what high school is all about: friendship. From weekend hangouts to quiet talks, from laughter to tears, their reflections remind us that long after the tests and textbooks fade, it’s the friendships that last forever. As we count down to graduation day for the Class of 2025, may they carry the same love, laughter, and lifelong connections into their next chapter. 💫 #BooneProud #Classof1983 #TimelessFriendship #CountdownTo2025

FRIENDS We have made it! Our metamorphosis is complete...an impossibility without the help of so many whose faces blurred along the way. The 1983 Senior class will always remember the years together, our times at DB and most of all, we will remember our friends....FRIENDS A shoulder to cry on, an ear which to bend, money to be borrowed, clothes that are lent. Those Saturday night parties, late afternoon walks, just being together, having our private talks. Mending our hearts, while crying those tears, planning our futures, voicing our fears. These memories together, from friend to friend, will be always together, eternally friends!
📚 Blazer Legacy Spotlight: Robin Fox 📚 Celebrating 20 years of sparking curiosity and a love for reading in the halls of Daniel Boone! Robin Fox has been the heart of our libraries for two decades—serving at the High School, Middle School, and Intermediate Center. She fondly remembers helping to design the layout of the brand-new library when the Middle School first opened. “Working with the school community has been such a joy. I’ve learned so much from both colleagues and students over the years,” she shared. ❤️ What she hopes students take with them: “I hope I’ve encouraged students to seek new knowledge and explore new authors.” Robin’s calm presence and deep love for literature have helped countless students find their next great read—and maybe even a lifelong love of books. 🎉 Highlight Reel: Coaching countless Reading Olympics teams Watching students light up at Reading Olympics competitions Helping design a brand-new library space Watching students grow from curious readers to confident thinkers 🍼 What’s next: Robin is most excited about spending more time with her new grandson, enjoying the next chapter of life surrounded by family. Robin, thank you for the inspiration, the quiet guidance, and the stories—both on the shelves and in the lives you’ve touched. 💙📖 #BlazerLegacySpotlight #BooneProud #ThankYouRobin

🏥 Blazer Legacy Spotlight: Beth Haines 🏥 Celebrating 40 years of compassionate care—6 of them right here at Daniel Boone! After two decades serving students in Illinois and the last 6 years as a school nurse at Daniel Boone Area School District, Beth Haines is retiring with an incredible 40 years of nursing experience. She brought a wealth of knowledge, a deep well of empathy, and a great sense of humor to the halls of the Intermediate Center. Beth reflects: “Each day is full of new comments or situations that make me giggle. The kids say the darndest things that warm your heart! I came to DB with a lot of experience, but I quickly realized there’s always more to learn. I’ve learned so much here.” Known for being a safe space, a steady hand, and a true advocate, Beth has helped countless students and staff through everything from scraped knees to more serious challenges—with grace, encouragement, and often a bit of laughter. 💡 What she’ll remember most: The long line of students outside her door (some with real ailments, some just needing a moment) The meaningful conversations with parents, offering calm reassurance Encouraging staff and answering medical questions with patience and care Teaching puberty classes and hygiene basics (with humor and empathy!) The unforgettable moments—tears, triumphs, giggles—and making every child feel seen, safe, and supported 🎉 A personal highlight? The clap-out traditions—watching students grow, change, and move on to their next chapter in their next school building. 🧳 What’s next? World travel with her husband 🌍✈️, welcoming two new granddaughters (joining the two they already adore!), spending quality time with family, diving into church ministry work, and yes—keeping up with the yard work and everyday joys. Beth, your impact on this community is lasting and deep. Thank you for caring for our students with such love, skill, and laughter. You’ve left a legacy of kindness—and you make us all #BooneProud #BlazerLegacySpotlight #ThankYouBeth

🥁 Blazer Legacy Spotlight: Celebrating Pete Denunzio 🎉 After 27 years of dedicated teaching in the Daniel Boone Area School District, Pete Denunzio is hanging up his whiteboard marker — and maybe picking up a pair of drumsticks! 🥁 Pete spent his entire career teaching 4th and 5th grade, leaving a lasting mark on hundreds of students with his humor, compassion, and commitment to helping kids grow — not just academically, but as kind, respectful people. One of his favorite memories? The first day of school, every single year — watching students walk into the classroom with wide eyes, nervous energy, and endless potential. “That excitement reminded me of my own childhood and kept me grounded in the ‘why’ behind what I do,” Pete says. Pete credits the amazing students, families, and colleagues at DB for shaping who he is today. His goal every day was simple: help students become better people than they were when they walked through the door — and judging by the laughs, high fives, and endless elbow bumps, he delivered. As he steps away from the classroom, Pete has one request for Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, or Aerosmith: “Call me — I’m ready for the world tour!” (Your move, rock legends! 🎸) Thank you, Pete, for 27 unforgettable years of heart, humor, and impact. Your legacy lives on in every student you’ve inspired. #BlazerLegacy #BooneProud #ThankYouPete

🎉 Blazer Legacy Spotlight: Celebrating Tracey Kolenda 🎉 Today’s Blazer Legacy Spotlight honors Tracey Kolenda, who dedicated more than 22 years to the Daniel Boone Area School District as an Instructional Aide in Special Education. Over the years, Tracey worked closely with Learning Support students—offering consistent encouragement, guidance, and support. One of her most cherished memories? The joyful tears that came when a struggling reader finally got it—a moment she says never lost its magic. 💙 Through her work, Tracey learned to embrace change, cherish what can be controlled, and always keep faith in the journey. Her motto: If you believe you have the best job in the building—it becomes true. And that’s exactly how she showed up each and every day. Her “highlight reel” would be filled with unforgettable moments alongside Life Skills students, whose strength, spirit, and smiles left a lasting impact. As she enters this next chapter, Tracey is excited to spend more time with her growing family—including two granddaughters and one more on the way this October. 💕 Life is good! Thank you, Tracey, for the compassion and commitment you brought to our schools. You made a difference, and your legacy lives on in every student you helped shine. #BlazerLegacy #BooneProud #ThankYouTracey

#TBT to the Class of 2015 🎓 Ten years ago, these seniors proudly shaped a "15" on the court—capturing a moment that symbolized both unity and the start of their journey beyond Boone. The world has changed in the last decade, and so have they, but the bond shared in those high school halls will always remain. As we count down to the Class of 2025’s big day, we celebrate the legacy left behind by those who came before. Here's to the Class of 2015 and the paths they’ve paved since graduation. 💙 #BooneProud #Classof2015 #10YearsLater #CountdownTo2025
