Today, we pause to honor and thank all who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Your courage, sacrifice, and commitment to protecting our freedoms will never be forgotten.
We are especially grateful to the veterans within our Daniel Boone community — staff members, alumni, families, and friends — who have worn the uniform with pride.
Thank you for your service. ❤️🤍💙

Thanks to the DBEA (Daniel Boone Education Association), our students and families had a fantastic night winding through the halls of the high school, collecting candy from school support groups, school board members, administrators, teachers, and student groups.
Even better, we collected personal care items and canned goods for our Caring Closets and Giving Markets which support our Boone families in need. What a wonderful night of community, fun, and giving back! ❤️

This month, we’re focusing on the power of relationships and connection in our schools. Hear from Melanie Hefter, Principal of the Primary Center, as she shares her reflections for October.
"There is a picture in my office with a frame that states “Students may forget what you said, but they will never forget the way you made them feel”. I believe this statement is very true!
As educators, we recognize that students are more likely to engage in learning when we form a connection with them first. This starts with getting to know all about them. What are their interests, do they have siblings and/or pets, what is their favorite color, their favorite food, do they play sports, other activities, etc? These common connections are the start, but it goes much further. We learn how students handle excitement, disappointment and more. Together, we navigate our days…growing closer to form a united PC community. Each day we come to school, ready to support each other in every way, year after year!
In the picture frame, that I mentioned previously, is a picture that a former student drew for me, approximately 15 years ago, when he was in kindergarten. His name was Skylar. That student has since graduated and has grown into a fine young man. I am thankful to be part of his journey and the journey of the hundreds of students who have walked these halls. Here at the Primary Center, we support our students each day, guiding them, supporting them and, yes, helping them learn how to read and complete math, but also how to respect each other always."

On October 22nd, our first graders enjoyed a magical visit from The Reading Wizard as part of the Reading Is Fundamental program, generously funded by UGI.
The library was filled with excitement as the wizard shared magic wands, bookmarks, and coloring books—and best of all, each student got to choose a brand-new book to keep! 📚💫
The children gasped when the wizard appeared and clapped with joy when they learned they could take their book home.
A huge thank you to UGI for helping our students discover that reading truly is magical! ✨

Every driver plays a role in keeping our students safe. Remember:
🔴 Stop when the red lights are flashing—it’s the law.
🟡 Be extra cautious in school zones and near bus stops.
⚪ Never pass a stopped school bus when children are loading or unloading.
Students, you have an important part too:
🤚🏻 Always wait at least 10 feet back from the road until the bus stops completely.
👀 Make eye contact with the driver before crossing in front of the bus.
🚶♂️ Cross the street only when the driver signals it’s safe.
📱 Stay alert—no phones or headphones when near traffic.
Together, we can make sure every student gets to and from school safely. 💙
