There is no school for students today, Monday, March 9th.
Our teachers are participating in a scheduled Professional Learning Day as they continue to grow, collaborate, and plan meaningful learning experiences for our students. 📚✏️
We’ll see everyone back at school tomorrow! 😊 #BooneProud

Daylight Saving Time began at 2:00 AM, which means brighter evenings and a little less sleep. 🌅✨
Set those alarms, adjust your clocks, and get ready to spring ahead!

There will be no school on Monday, March 9th - our teachers have a Professional Learning Day. 🧑🏻🏫
Enjoy the long weekend...we’ll see everyone back at school on Tuesday!

After graduating from Daniel Boone Area High School in 1979, Richie Bowden threw himself right into work.
Beginning in Mr. Bowden's early childhood, he would help out in his father’s auto mechanic garage. It was in these moments that Mr. Bowden’s father instilled in him the work ethic that he possesses today.
That way of life stuck with Mr. Bowden. At times, he worked two full-time jobs and another on the weekends, working up to 20 hours a day. Mr. Bowden described it as an “addiction” to making money; working was his fulfillment.
But then, one day, that changed. “God was calling me that I had to go into the community.” At first he was reluctant, but soon he realized: “How much is enough?”
Now, Mr. Bowden is profoundly involved in various community services. Using expertise crafted through decades of work, he helps fix and renovate houses with Mission Trip Birdsboro and Restoring Hope of Berks County. Mission Trip Birdsboro has grown to encompass seven different partnership organizations. Anyone can volunteer to help out, and there is even a prominent youth presence. 🔨
He also helps feed those in need with Hopewell Love Community Services and sings with Threefold Blessings, a traveling praise and worship team where he has used his gifts to honor God almost every Sunday.
Mr. Bowden said his heart was never in school, but it is evident that he possesses the exact skills that schools are designed to teach. Grades alone cannot change the world, but the impact Mr. Bowden has on the community certainly can.
Mr. Bowden also had a few words of advice for current high school students, “Stick with it.”

On February 4th, Primary Center families joined us in celebrating World Read Aloud Day by participating in Mrs. Latimer’s Reading Challenge! Students who took a book home made a special promise to read together as a family and share a photo of their literacy moment. 💙
Did you know that reading together for just a few minutes each day can:
📖 Strengthen the parent/child bond
🗣️ Accelerate language and vocabulary development
✏️ Build essential literacy skills
👂 Improve listening skills and concentration
🌟 Spark imagination and creativity
Daily reading can expose children to millions more words, helping to narrow the achievement gap. Simply put — reading is one of the most important skills we ever learn!
We are so thankful to our incredible families who participated and continue to prioritize learning at home. Your partnership makes all the difference! 💫
