🌟 Supporting Youth Impacted by a Loved One’s Substance Use: A Safe Space for Healing 🌟 Caron understands the challenges that young people face when a loved one’s substance use affects their lives. 📚✨ Warm Up with a Good Book Contest! ✨📚 Attention Primary Center families! Be on the lookout for our "Warm Up with a Good Book" contest materials coming home in your child's backpack. 🎒📖 The contest kicks off today and runs through March 18th. Students can read independently or have someone read to them. After 30 minutes of reading, they can cut out, color and complete a paper hot chocolate mug included in the packet. Extra blank hot chocolate mug templates are available in the main office and library or you can print your own using this link: https://5il.co/351ta. 10 students in each grade who read the most will get a special prize from Mrs. Earnshaw. 🔙 Throwback Thursday: A Glimpse into Amity High School’s Rich History! 🔙 Did you know the building on the corner of Rt 662 and Weavertown Road has a history that dates back to the 1930s? Originally constructed for the 1931-32 school term, the first iteration of Amity High School consisted of 11 rooms, a gym/auditorium, and served grades 1-12. 🌟 By 1939, the school expanded with four new classrooms and a shop to meet the growing needs of the community. As Amity continued to thrive, another addition came in 1953, bringing with it four more classrooms, a cafeteria, updated lavatories, a remodeled gym/auditorium, and a modernized heating system. ❄️🔥 Fast forward to 1956, when a movement to enlarge school districts led to the formation of the Daniel Boone Joint School System, which included Amity, Birdsboro, and Union Townships. The changes didn’t stop there! In 1972, as Amity continued to flourish, seven more classrooms and a library were added to the building. 📚✏️ The final additions came in the 1980s with two more classrooms, and over time, the building became the Amity Elementary Center (grades 1-5) then transitioning to Amity Primary Center (grades K-2) when the new Amity Intermediate Center building was constructed. We hope everyone has a fun, warm, and safe day. ***A special message for students attending BCTC*** If BCTC is open, BCTC students must log in to Schoology accounts and submit all assignments by the due dates, and participate in scheduled live virtual sessions with their teacher. If BCTC is closed, students do not need to log in to Schoology and assignments will be completed at a later date.
