Hello DBAPC families,
Please be aware of this IMPORTANT change to our procedures this year regarding electronics-most specifically with watches that are allowing texting and calling (please see below for the excerpt from our PC handbook). We are seeing more and more children wearing watches that allow for them to call and text their families. This is becoming a strong distraction for the students and is impacting the learning environment. Therefore, we ask that you talk to your children about this as we DO NOT permit children to text or call parents while they are at school EXCEPT when necessary with adult supervision from our school office staff or the school nurse. If this continues to be a concern, we will need your child to keep these types of electronic devices at home.
Thank you for your help and support from home!
Melanie Hefter, Principal of DBAPC
Other Personal Property
Cellular phones, electronic watches that will allow texting/calls, electronic games, trading cards, and other amusements or valuables are best left at home, but if brought to school must be kept in students’ bookbags and be turned off. The district cannot assume responsibility for student property. It is wise for students not to bring valuables to school. If a student's property is confiscated, the parent may be required to come to school in order to reclaim the item.
