πβ¨ National Bus Safety Week Tip #2! β¨π
This week, we're sharing crucial safety tips for our students and families. Todayβs tip: Arrive at the bus stop 5 to 10 minutes early!
Being at the stop ahead of time allows the bus driver to see you clearly and helps prevent the need to run after a missed bus. Remember, once the bus has started moving, itβs never safe to approachβ the driver may not see you!
Letβs keep our kids safe by making bus safety a priority. Stay tuned for more tips this week! #BusSafety #NationalBusSafetyWeek #SafetyFirst

πβ¨ It's National School Bus Safety Week! β¨π
This week, we're sharing important tips to keep our students and families safe. Today's tip: Avoid the Danger Zone!
The danger zone is a 10-12 foot area around the bus where the driver may not see you. Hereβs how to stay safe:
β
If you drop something near the bus, donβt try to pick it up! Alert the bus driver instead.
π« Never run after a missed bus. Once itβs moving, itβs never safe to approach.
π Always make eye contact with the bus driver before crossing or entering the bus. This ensures they see you and that itβs safe to move.
π While waiting, stand back from the road until the bus has completely stopped.
Let's work together to keep our kids safe! Stay tuned for more tips throughout the week. #SchoolBusSafety #NationalSchoolBusSafetyWeek #SafetyFirst

π Throwback Thursday! π
A common question about the HS campus is whether the pond behind the building always existed. The answer? No, it was constructed in 1971 by the Science Club. Read on:
"This year saw the beginning of work on a long-planned Science club project: a pond and outdoor study area behind the school athletic fields. This area, eventually to be used as an outdoor classroom for science and biology students, was financed by the school along with contributions from the Science Club and the Birdsboro Junior Woman's Club.
The 1970-71 club officers - Peter Gibbons (president), Greg Simon (vice-president), Marcia Hughes (secretary), and Carol Heist (treasurer) - led the group under the direction of faculty advisors Mr. Hugh Kelly and Mrs. Helen Olena. Other projects planned and participated in by the club included nature hikes and an anti-pollution campaign, testing of water samples and biological research and ecology projects."
