📢 Meet Our New Assistant Director of Special Education, Mrs. Michelle Maynard! 🎉 We are thrilled to introduce Mrs. Maynard as our Assistant Director of Special Education! Mrs. Maynard's journey with us began in 2004 as a Paraeducator at the middle school. Since then, she has served as a Learning Support Teacher at both the Primary and Intermediate Centers, a district-wide Special Ed Learning Coach, and most recently as an IEP Facilitator for the district. She has also been an Academic Leader for the Special Education department, overseeing grades 6-12, and coordinator of our Extended School Year (ESY) program. Mrs. Maynard holds an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and Special Education from Grand Canyon University, a Master's in Instructional Media and Technology from Wilkes University, and completed the Special Education Supervisor program at Penn State University. She is certified in Orton Gillingham and Wilson Reading. Additionally, she has been a dedicated member of the SAP team and has completed SEL training with Tom Stecher. Mrs. Maynard's passion for special education and her commitment to our students make her the perfect fit for this role! 🌟 #MeetOurTeam # BooneProud

🌸 Blossoming Young Gardeners at Daniel Boone! 🌱 Back in the spring, our Kindergarten and 1st grade students planted a beautiful garden, and look at it now! 🌿🌷 Through a mini-garden curriculum, our Primary and Intermediate Center life skill classrooms were instrumental in the planting process. From tiny seeds to flourishing plants, they've learned the joys of gardening and the importance of nurturing nature. 🌻 🫑 A special thanks to Ashley Griffith, our district Wellness Coordinator, who implemented this fantastic wellness initiative, and to the HS Ecology Club for their invaluable help with planting our Kinder "garden" during our Garden Day activity in the Spring.
