Our third graders had an important—and fun—lesson in fire safety this week! A big thank-you to our friends at Monarch and Amity Fire Companies for visiting and teaching our students about smoke detectors, fire equipment, and what to do in the event of a fire.
The students also learned that firefighters may look a little different when they’re dressed in all their protective gear! Mrs. Myers showed them that a firefighter’s uniform doesn’t have to be scary… and paraprofessional Mrs. Morris even joined in, striking a pose with her best ✌️ peace signs!

Armed with PPE, paintbrushes, fluorescent spray paint, and plenty of hard work, members of Girl Scout Troop 1052 took on the challenge of giving the faded U.S. map on the Intermediate Center playground a much-needed makeover!
As part of their Bronze Award project, DBAMS 6th graders Brynn Rynkiewicz, Ava Keppen, and Alexandra Tilley, along with Emma Hofmanner of Commonwealth Charter Academy, rolled up their sleeves and transformed the playground space into a bright, colorful map for students to enjoy. 🇺🇸🗺️
A project like this takes a community! A special thank-you to ISC HVAC Inc. for donating the spray paint, tape, and PPE, and to Amity Township for providing cones to safely block off the area while the girls worked.
Most importantly, thank you to the members of Troop 1052 for choosing to make a lasting difference in their school community. We are #BooneProud of the time, effort, and heart you put into this project! 💙🤍
