#TBT to the Class of 1983 🎓
Straight from the yearbook: “FRIENDS—we have made it! Our metamorphosis is complete…”
The Class of 1983 captured the very heart of what high school is all about: friendship. From weekend hangouts to quiet talks, from laughter to tears, their reflections remind us that long after the tests and textbooks fade, it’s the friendships that last forever.
As we count down to graduation day for the Class of 2025, may they carry the same love, laughter, and lifelong connections into their next chapter. 💫

🎓 Blazer Legacy Spotlight: Barb Young 🎓
Celebrating 26 remarkable years of teaching, compassion, and community impact.
Barb Young is more than a math teacher and self-proclaimed “math geek"—she's a force of good in the lives of 3,300+ students, colleagues and the DB community.
✨ Unforgettable Moment :
“The impact we made with Relay For Life of Daniel Boone.”
From 2011 to 2022, Barb helped raise over $1 million to fight cancer. Even during COVID, the mission never stopped. “There’s nothing like walking the survivor lap surrounded by students, friends, and family.”
🙌 Through teaching, Barb says she grew too:
“I’m more empathetic. I’ve learned how one person can make a difference every day.” While she taught math, she focused on life lessons:
“Being a good, productive human is more important than any one subject. College isn’t for everyone—we need people in trades, too. What we make doesn’t define our worth.”
💬 What she hopes students remember:
“That I challenged them to think about math differently, to think critically, and to care. And I hope I’ve shown how to face adversity with strength and grace.”
🔥 Highlight Reel:
Relay For Life of DB
Great Adventure trips
Teaching the kids of former students
Watching students return to teach here
Prom, lifelong friendships, visits from grads
Those moments when the “lightbulb” comes on
🌍 What’s next?
Traveling during the school year—and finally seeing the world without worrying about substitute plans.
Barb, your dedication, heart, and humor have left a legacy that adds up to something truly special.

🎓 Blazer Legacy Spotlight: Susan Fulmer 🎓
Celebrating 30 years of heart, history, and helping students find their path!
After 4 years as a dedicated substitute and 26 years of teaching, Sue Fulmer is closing a meaningful chapter at Daniel Boone Area School District. Over the decades, Sue has done more than teach history—she’s made it, building a legacy of compassion, connection, and community involvement.
One of Sue’s favorite memories? The pure joy on the faces of elementary students during the annual Seuss Show—especially when the “rain song” starts and they get an unexpected splash of fun! 🌧️📚
Sue reflects: “Daniel Boone has provided me with the opportunity to grow as both a teacher and a person through all of my experiences with students and colleagues. I am forever changed by all the friends I’ve made here.”
💡 Her goal was simple but powerful: to help students become compassionate, respectful, and successful citizens—and to light a fire for learning that continues long after graduation.
🎬 Highlight Reel Moments:
Watching her “somewhat crazy” 9th grade Humanities students grow into thoughtful seniors
Seeing the “lightbulb” moments when lessons really clicked
Meaningful everyday conversations with students and staff
Helping lead impactful service like the Angela Hohl Blood Drives and Relay for Life
The fun, chaos, and creativity of the student-directed Seuss Shows 🎭
Model Senate debates, Mr. Boone performances, Shady Maple breakfasts, and coasters at Six Flags
And the proudest moment: watching her students walk across the stage at graduation
👨👩👧👦 What’s next? More time with her grandchildren—new memories to be made, and new adventures to enjoy.
Thank you, Sue, for the energy, empathy, and excellence you've brought to every class and every student. Your legacy lives on in the lives you’ve touched.

#TBT to the Class of 2020 🎓
Five short years ago, this class faced challenges no one could have imagined. From senior parades to virtual graduations, they proved that resilience, spirit, and community can shine even in the darkest of times. COVID couldn’t dim their light.
As we count down to the graduation of the Class of 2025, we look back with admiration on the Class of 2020—trailblazers of perseverance and heart. 💻🎉

📘 Blazer Legacy Spotlight: Lorraine Stagg 🔬🎉
After more than 25 years of teaching science at Daniel Boone High School, Lorraine Stagg is closing the lab notebook and heading into a well-earned retirement — leaving behind a legacy filled with curiosity, chaos, and heart.
From dead rat dissections to skeleton jump scares, Lorraine’s science classroom was always full of energy (and maybe a bit of a smell!). Whether it was Jeff Berger moonwalking out of her classroom during a lab observation, stairwell munchkin ambushes by Ebling and Mentzer or Werley accidentally (on purpose) scaring her for the 100th time, she greeted it all with laughter, passion, and an unshakable love for teaching.
But Lorraine’s legacy goes far beyond memorable lab mishaps and laughs.
“My students and my colleagues have had a profound impact on helping to shape the person I am today. They’ve been an integral part of my life in so many ways. I treasure the friendships I have forged throughout the years, and the many wonderful people I’ve met in education — it’s been an incredible journey.”
That journey inspired her own daughter, now a senior at Kutztown University majoring in secondary English education, to follow in her footsteps.
Lorraine hopes her students always felt how much she cared, and took away something beyond just science:
“There’s so much more in life to learn — be a lifelong learner. Be observers, ask questions, find answers, work hard at something you love. Most importantly, care about others.”
🎬 Her highlight reel? Dissections gone sideways, a classroom known for its unique smell, and countless joyful, meaningful moments with the colleagues and students who’ve meant so much over the years.
💗 In retirement, Lorraine looks forward to spending time with her grandchildren and family — and pretending to enjoy fishing with her husband. 🎣
Lorraine, thank you for the laughter, learning, and legacy. Your impact reaches far beyond the science lab.

🧪🍳 Mrs. Miller's Chemistry classes have been hard at work mixing science and fun! Over the past two days, students experimented with the perfect combination of vinegar and baking soda to create a cushion of air — all in an effort to protect their eggs during a dramatic drop to the ground. Science in action at its best! 👩🔬🚀 #BooneProud #HandsOnLearning #STEMinAction

🎉 Congratulations to DBAHS senior Kamryn Burmester on successfully completing her internship with Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center! 🏥💙
Kamryn interned in the Surgical Services Outpatient Interventional Unit, where she gained valuable hands-on experience—transporting patients, prepping rooms, and creating a calm, comforting environment for those in care. She also had the opportunity to observe a variety of medical procedures, including infusions, endoscopies, lab draws, lung biopsies, and even a C-section! 👏
We're so proud of Kamryn and wish her all the best as she pursues her dream of becoming a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). Your future is bright! 🌟
