School Police

The Daniel Boone Area School District has a fully staffed safety team , which includes full time school police officers in addition to our safe schools officers. The majority of the safety team are retired law enforcement officers and/or military personnel.

The District takes the safety of staff, students, and visitors very seriously and makes sure that the most qualified officers are selected through our vendor. All team members are NASRO certified and use the TRIAD model (Education, Mentoring, and Law Enforcement) when interacting with students. Building positive relationships with our students, staff, and community are key to providing a safe learning environment.

School Police Officers are trained in educating students on a variety of safety and law topics, and provide mentoring to help them make good life choices. Law enforcement is an absolute last resort and used in limited summary type offenses.  More serious offenses are referred to local or state police.

Current members of our safety team are retired from the Reading, Philadelphia, Birdsboro, Pennsylvania State Police, and University of Penn Police Departments, and some represent different branches of our military.
