Our High School Student Ambassadors, under the direction of Mrs. Ashley Griffith, District Wellness Coordinator, recently hosted a craft day for our Primary Center students. Together, students created unique painted snowflakes, making for a fun and creative experience for all!
The event was very well organized and served as a wonderful opportunity to partner our older students with our younger learners. Both groups did an excellent job working together, building connections and sharing smiles along the way.
A special thank you to Mrs. Griffith and all of our HS Student Ambassadors for making this meaningful event possible! 💙

Our high school Aevidum group hosted a Giving Tree event in December, and it was a wonderful success! Students and staff picked names from the tree and purchased items to donate to The Children’s Hospital, helping spread joy and kindness during the holiday season.
Pictured are student helpers Bria Getty and Annalise Yosko, along with Steve, owner of Collegeville Italian Bakery, and Marco Desiderio, high school science teacher and Aevidum advisor. Steve and Mr. Desiderio have proudly collaborated each Christmas to collect gifts and give back to our community.
We’re so proud of everyone who helped make this meaningful tradition possible! 💙

Several members of the DBHS International Thespian Honor Society attended the Pennsylvania Thespian Festival (PA ThesFest) from January 2–4 at Parkland High School. This statewide theatre conference, presented in partnership with the Educational Theatre Association, brought together hundreds of high school theatre students and educators from across Pennsylvania.
Throughout the three-day event, students took part in hands-on workshops in acting, musical theatre, technical theatre, directing, and dance, and enjoyed student-produced one-act shows, mainstage plays and musicals, and improv competitions from schools across the state.
A special congratulations to Shannon Tilley ’27, who participated in a junior showcase for college recruiters. Students also explored future opportunities at a college fair featuring more than 30 universities with theatre arts programs.
Most importantly, our students built meaningful connections with peers who share their passion for theatre and began what promises to be a lasting relationship with the Educational Theatre Association. 🌟
🎬 Participating ITS Members:
Callista Basile ’26, Adrian Dawson-Berkey ’27, Luke Eurillo ’27, William Falstich ’26, Aurora Keim ’27, Maya Kremer ’27, Mallory Oister ’28, Amelia Shelgren ’28, Carissa Schlegel ’27, and Shannon Tilley ’27

On Tuesday and Wednesday, our high school German and Spanish students visited the middle school to share their love of languages with 8th graders.
Through games and quick lessons, students tried out new words, spoke a little German and Spanish, and asked great questions about language classes and clubs at the high school.
It was a fun, hands-on experience that gave our middle schoolers a glimpse of what’s waiting for them in high school — and gave our high school students the opportunity to shine as leaders.

📸 Throwback Thursday: Birdsboro’s Second High School — The Roosevelt Building 🏫
Did you know that Birdsboro’s second high school had its own school song (pictured below)? 🎶
Built in 1927, the Roosevelt Building served as Birdsboro’s high school until 1955, when Amity, Union, and Birdsboro joined together. After that, it became the Daniel Boone Junior High School. The building was located just behind the original high school—the Washington Building—between Adams and Jefferson Streets on West 3rd Street.
Drop a comment if you remember this school song! 👇🎵
✨ Behind the Scenes: Our monthly Throwback Thursday posts are being created by our Communications Intern, senior Dan Shank. Dan enjoys research and interviews and is excited to hone his skills while working alongside our DB Communications Team.

Together, they had meaningful conversations about what it truly means to be an Ambassador—responsibility, vulnerability, and showing up authentically for others. They talked about how we’re all unique, but at the end of the day, we’re all human—and we all struggle from time to time.
The day was filled with connection, deep conversations, and plenty of fun, including:
✨ We’re Not Really Strangers - a conversation card game
🏎️ A creative twist on Pipeline using Hot Wheels tracks and cars
🎈 Balloon Confessions - an activity that reminded us just how similar our struggles really are
A huge thank you to the alumni who helped lead Unity Day and shared their time, experiences, and hearts with our students:
Ethan Scott, Erin Okuniewski, Marlee Fetrow, Hannah Huddleson, Wil Gaskins, Luke Armstrong, and Meghan Duffy.

Students in Mrs. Serianni’s classes are putting their creativity and problem-solving skills to the test with their new KEVA Bot Mazes, generously provided by the Blazer Education Foundation.
These STEM-focused building kits let kids design and build their own motorized “bristle bots” and create custom mazes for them to navigate. Using wooden planks, connectors, and craft materials, students explore engineering, coding, and hands-on experimentation, all while having fun!
We love seeing our students think, build, and innovate every day! 💡
