🏅 Daniel Boone Students Inducted into National Technical Honor Society 🏅
The Berks Career and Technology Center (BCTC) recently held its annual National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) Induction Ceremony at Schuylkill Valley High School.
The mission of NTHS is to advocate for and empower students to pursue the skills needed for successful careers and to contribute to the global workforce. Its Core 4 Objectives, derived from the original seven attributes—Skill, Scholarship, Leadership, Honesty, Responsibility, Service, and Citizenship—guide the activities of local chapters and help members grow in areas essential for career success.

On October 22nd, our first graders enjoyed a magical visit from The Reading Wizard as part of the Reading Is Fundamental program, generously funded by UGI.
The library was filled with excitement as the wizard shared magic wands, bookmarks, and coloring books—and best of all, each student got to choose a brand-new book to keep! 📚💫
The children gasped when the wizard appeared and clapped with joy when they learned they could take their book home.
A huge thank you to UGI for helping our students discover that reading truly is magical! ✨

Chase shot an impressive 68 and 72 (140 total) to finish 4 under par and take 4th place at the PIAA State Golf Championship held at Penn State in State College yesterday! 🏌️♂️💪

We’re proud to announce that these outstanding students were selected to represent Daniel Boone at the Berks Senior County Chorus Festival!

Every driver plays a role in keeping our students safe. Remember:
🔴 Stop when the red lights are flashing—it’s the law.
🟡 Be extra cautious in school zones and near bus stops.
⚪ Never pass a stopped school bus when children are loading or unloading.
Students, you have an important part too:
🤚🏻 Always wait at least 10 feet back from the road until the bus stops completely.
👀 Make eye contact with the driver before crossing in front of the bus.
🚶♂️ Cross the street only when the driver signals it’s safe.
📱 Stay alert—no phones or headphones when near traffic.
Together, we can make sure every student gets to and from school safely. 💙

Beginning Tuesday, October 21, the Daniel Boone High School track will be closed for the next step in our resurfacing project. This closure is expected to last until approximately November 4, weather permitting.
Please note that both the turf and track will be closed during this time, as the track surface cannot be walked on while work is in progress. Sports practices will be adjusted and relocated as needed.
We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation as we complete these important upgrades to our athletic facilities. The track will reopen as soon as work is finished!

That was the case for IC 3rd grader Lexi, who had no trouble picking out her next great read from our Book Vending Machine!
The machine—generously donated by the Blazer Education Foundation—is filled with a variety of picture and chapter books for students to choose from. When students earn enough Positive Behavior tickets, they can trade them in for a book token and enjoy a brand-new book of their own!

Congratulations to junior Julia Leady who is the 2025 BCIAA Champion and All-County runner — and the first Daniel Boone athlete to win a county championship! 🎉👏
Sophomore Sarah Shank finished 20th overall, helping lead the girls’ team as they will send five runners to the upcoming District 3 Championships!
On the boys’ side, senior Dan Shank earned 6th place and All-County honors, with the boys’ team also qualifying five runners for Districts.
