💙 A heartfelt THANK YOU to Mission Trip Birdsboro and Beyond and their 7 partner churches for their incredible generosity and support of the Daniel Boone Area School District!
For almost a decade, Mission Trip Birdsboro and Beyond has been helping seniors, families, and residents in our community who are struggling financially with home repairs they can’t afford to tackle alone. This year’s mission also focused on stocking our Caring Closet—a vital resource that provides food, toiletries, and essentials to students and families facing homelessness or economic hardship in our district.

🚧 STADIUM CLOSURE NOTICE 🚧
The stadium (track & turf) will be CLOSED from Tuesday, 7/8 through Sunday, 7/13 as crews complete Phase 1 of the resurfacing project. This includes paving and spraying a pre-layer that requires a full week to cure — so we need everyone to stay off the facility during this time.
🔒 Signs and caution tape will be in place to help keep the area secure.
☀️ Work is weather dependent, so dates may shift if needed.
✅ We plan to REOPEN Monday, 7/14 — but stay tuned for updates!
Later this month, we’ll close again for the final surface spray. Thank you for your cooperation and support as we improve our facility!

📣 Registration for all grade levels is OPEN! 📣
Do you have a child who will be 5 years old by September 1, 2025 or have you just moved into the district and your child will be attending Daniel Boone? It's time to register for the 2025-2026 school year!
✅ To register, you’ll need:
Child's birth certificate, baptismal certificate, or valid passport
Two Proof of Residency forms for guardian: driver's license, utility bill, property tax bill, vehicle registration, a deed or lease or a piece of mail sent by the federal or state government
Child's current Immunization Records - Don’t wait until the 5-year check-up if you're registering a kindergarten student — as long as you have the required documents, you can register now and submit updated forms before the first day of school.

🏆 Congratulations, Owen Heimbach! 🧱
Back in April, we shared the exciting news that Owen Heimbach took 1st place in Masonry at the SkillsUSA State Competition in Hershey (see photo below).
Now, we’re proud to announce that Owen has gone even further—earning 2nd place in the nation at the SkillsUSA National Championships held in Atlanta this June!
Representing both Daniel Boone Area High School and the state of Pennsylvania, Owen’s outstanding craftsmanship, dedication, and skill earned him well-deserved recognition on the national stage.

🚀 A huge THANK YOU to the Teacher Mini Grants Fund of Berks County Community Foundation for sponsoring a teacher mini-grant to purchase an Air Tunnel for Parachute Engineering Design Challenge for our Middle School STEM program! 🎉
Thanks to their generosity, students in Mrs. Worrell's class used the engineering design process to build and test mini parachutes—learning all about gravity, air resistance, and surface area in a fun, hands-on way. 🪂💨
The grant also provided the extra supplies needed—kite string, tape, scissors, and more—to bring these creative designs to life. We’re excited to see future STEM adventures with this new addition! 💡🔧

Students in Mrs. Karen Worrell’s class had the chance to dive into hands-on learning with their brand-new LEGO SPIKE Bots this year — made possible through a grant from the Blazer Education Foundation! 🧠🤖💙
With these kits, students have the opportunity to build, program, and solve real-world challenges. From writing code that gets their bots moving to experimenting with sensors and solving tricky design problems, they’re developing critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration every step of the way.
