🎓✨ Real-World Experience. College Credits. Bright Futures Ahead! ✨🎓

Daniel Boone Area High School is proud to once again partner with Kutztown University through the Early College Academy!

This year, three of our seniors took advantage of an incredible opportunity—attending college classes three days a week while gaining hands-on experience through internships the other two days. Even more impressive? They each earned 12 college credits—the equivalent of an entire semester—before even graduating high school!

We’re excited to celebrate their hard work and achievements:
👏 Jaren Donahue
👏 Gavin Heckman – KU Commit
👏 June Lewiski – KU Commit

Two of these outstanding students will continue their academic journeys at Kutztown University, and we couldn’t be more proud!

Their names will join our past Early College Academy participants on the plaque displayed in the School Counseling Suite—a lasting reminder of their dedication and success.

Join us in congratulating these students on this amazing accomplishment! #BooneProud

Huge congratulations to Daniel Boone junior Thomas Kruse on an incredible showing at the IBJJF New York Open earlier this month! 🥇🥇

Thomas brought home Double Gold, going a perfect 6–0… all by submission—a truly dominant performance. He competed in both the 195 lb Blue Belt Gi division and the 202 lb Blue Belt NoGi division, proving his skill, strength, and determination across the board.

Next up: Worlds, where Thomas will take the mats as the youngest competitor in his division. We can’t wait to see what he accomplishes on the world stage!

Way to represent, Thomas! 💪🔥 #BooneProud

Built in 1716, the Mouns Jones House is the oldest documented building in all of Berks County. 🏠

Back in 1701, the land it sits on was granted to Mouns Jones by William Penn himself. That land later became Amity Township—the first township in Berks County—named for the peaceful relationships with Native American communities.

What’s the oldest building near where you live?

🎮 Bonus points if you can guess the video game that inspired the pixelated image of the Mouns Jones House shown in this post!

Special thanks to Communications Intern and DBASD senior Daniel Shank for creating this week’s Throwback Thursday post.
