πΈ Blazer Legacy Spotlight: Alison Danner
Today, we celebrate Alison Danner, who is retiring after 17 impactful years with the Daniel Boone Area School District. Originally hired as an Autistic Support Aide, Alison also served as a Learning Support and Instructional Aide, always working to support and empower our students.
Alisonβs favorite memories include the legendary, laughter-filled staff scavenger hunts, and the joy of working in a collaborative environment where student success always came first. She shared, βMy hope is that Iβve instilled confidence and coping skills in students, and that they know weβre here to help them through any obstacles they may face.β
She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and compassionβand the gratitude of countless students, families, and amazing colleagues who she was lucky enough to work alongside of over the years.
As she heads into retirement, Alison is looking forward to quiet morning walks, traveling, and soaking up time at her beach house. ποΈ
Thank you, Alison, for everything youβve done to support our students and district. You will be missed! π #BooneProud #BlazerLegacy #ThankYouAlison

π₯ Blazer Legacy Spotlight: Celebrating Pete Denunzio π
After 27 years of dedicated teaching in the Daniel Boone Area School District, Pete Denunzio is hanging up his whiteboard marker β and maybe picking up a pair of drumsticks! π₯
Pete spent his entire career teaching 4th and 5th grade, leaving a lasting mark on hundreds of students with his humor, compassion, and commitment to helping kids grow β not just academically, but as kind, respectful people.
One of his favorite memories? The first day of school, every single year β watching students walk into the classroom with wide eyes, nervous energy, and endless potential. βThat excitement reminded me of my own childhood and kept me grounded in the βwhyβ behind what I do,β Pete says.
Pete credits the amazing students, families, and colleagues at DB for shaping who he is today. His goal every day was simple: help students become better people than they were when they walked through the door β and judging by the laughs, high fives, and endless elbow bumps, he delivered.
As he steps away from the classroom, Pete has one request for Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, or Aerosmith: βCall me β Iβm ready for the world tour!β (Your move, rock legends! πΈ)
Thank you, Pete, for 27 unforgettable years of heart, humor, and impact. Your legacy lives on in every student youβve inspired. #BlazerLegacy #BooneProud #ThankYouPete

Todayβs Blazer Legacy Spotlight honors Tracey Kolenda, who dedicated more than 22 years to the Daniel Boone Area School District as an Instructional Aide in Special Education.
Over the years, Tracey worked closely with Learning Support studentsβoffering consistent encouragement, guidance, and support. One of her most cherished memories? The joyful tears that came when a struggling reader finally got itβa moment she says never lost its magic. π
Through her work, Tracey learned to embrace change, cherish what can be controlled, and always keep faith in the journey. Her motto: If you believe you have the best job in the buildingβit becomes true. And thatβs exactly how she showed up each and every day.
Her βhighlight reelβ would be filled with unforgettable moments alongside Life Skills students, whose strength, spirit, and smiles left a lasting impact.
As she enters this next chapter, Tracey is excited to spend more time with her growing familyβincluding two granddaughters and one more on the way this October. π Life is good!
Thank you, Tracey, for the compassion and commitment you brought to our schools. You made a difference, and your legacy lives on in every student you helped shine. #BlazerLegacy #BooneProud #ThankYouTracey

π Blazer Legacy Spotlight: Celebrating Our 2025 Retirees! π

With 19 years of service to the Daniel Boone Area School District, Angβs impact has been felt across every corner of the district. From building sub to teacher, instructional coach to administrator, and most recently serving as our Chief Academic Affairs Officer, Ang has worn many hatsβand worn them all with passion, purpose, and heart.
A proud Blazer through and throughβAng attended DBASD as a student, raised her children here, and worked alongside her fellow Boone grads (including her husband!). She reflects fondly on classroom memories, the magic of school year traditions, and the meaningful relationships formed along the way.
Ang hopes her legacy is one of kindness, hard work, positivity, and inspiration. And if you ever crossed paths with her, you know thatβs exactly what she brought to our school community.
Up next: quality time with loved ones and making new memories in retirement. π

π As we head into the final days of the school year, retiree celebrations are in full swing here at Daniel Boone!
Today, the first grade team at the Primary Center honored Anita Brady and Pat Smith for their incredible dedication and service to our students. These individuals have made a lasting impact on our schools, our students, and our community β and we are so grateful for the time, care, and heart theyβve given over the years. π
More heartfelt celebrations are still to come as we say farewell and thank you to all of this yearβs retirees. Stay tuned as we continue to honor the amazing people who help make us #BooneProud!

π§ͺπ³ Mrs. Miller's Chemistry classes have been hard at work mixing science and fun! Over the past two days, students experimented with the perfect combination of vinegar and baking soda to create a cushion of air β all in an effort to protect their eggs during a dramatic drop to the ground. #TBT to the Class of 2015 π
Ten years ago, these seniors proudly shaped a "15" on the courtβcapturing a moment that symbolized both unity and the start of their journey beyond Boone. The world has changed in the last decade, and so have they, but the bond shared in those high school halls will always remain.
As we count down to the Class of 2025βs big day, we celebrate the legacy left behind by those who came before. Here's to the Class of 2015 and the paths theyβve paved since graduation. π
