🕰️ Throwback Thursday: Birdsboro’s Original High School – The Washington Building 🕰️
Did you know that the original high school in Birdsboro was called the Washington Building? (Pictured in the 1st photo) Built in 1896, it stood proudly on W 2nd Street and served the community for over three decades. 🏫
In 1927, the “new” Birdsboro High School – the Roosevelt Building (pictured here in the 2nd photo taken in 1945) – was constructed between Adams and Jefferson Streets on W 3rd, right behind the Washington Building.
The last photo shows students leaving the old Roosevelt Building heading down the hill to the newly constructed Birdsboro Elementary building.
Sadly, the historic Washington Building was demolished in 1970, but its legacy lives on in the stories and memories of Birdsboro’s past. 📸✨

Great turnout for our Veteran's Day Breakfast!
Thank you to all who served!

🇺🇸 Honoring Our Boone Veterans 🇺🇸
On Friday, two of our very own, Jason Withers (Director of Facilities) and Matthew Brand (Director of Safety & Security), were celebrated at the Benefit for Berks County Veterans Luncheon, sponsored by Customers Bank and held at the DoubleTree Hotel. Superintendent Tom Voelker was honored to join in recognizing two of our Boone veterans for their dedicated service.
Today and every day, we honor all veterans in our Boone community, Berks County, and beyond who have bravely protected our freedom. Thank you for your service! #BooneProud #VeteransDay #ThankYouVeterans
