We came across these photos of professional basketball player Wayne Ellington in our 2003 yearbook, taken during his freshman year at Daniel Boone!
Wayne went on to play at UNC, win an NCAA championship, and enjoy a successful NBA career with teams like the Los Angeles Lakers and the New York Knicks — and he’s now giving back to the game as a player development coach with the Miami Heat. 🔥
You may also notice some familiar hometown faces in these throwback shots — including our very own high school math teacher, Mr. Adam Ebling!

Congratulations to Abigail Beltz, Meadow Fleckenstein, and Haley Wagner — they’ve officially graduated from Reading Area Community College (RACC) with associate’s degrees… before even receiving their high school diplomas! 🎉
Thanks to RACC’s Dual Enrollment program, these driven students earned college credits while completing high school — a remarkable achievement that highlights the power of hard work, dedication, and academic ambition. 👏

🎶🎉 On Friday, May 2, the 8th Grade Band & Chorus proudly represented DBAMS at the Music in the Parks Adjudication Festival in Hershey, PA!
🏅 The Band earned 3rd place with a rating of EXCELLENT, and the Chorus took 1st place, also with a rating of EXCELLENT!
👏 To top it off, DBAMS was honored with the prestigious Esprit de Corps Award, recognizing the school for demonstrating the highest level of positive attitude, support, teamwork, and outstanding behavior throughout the day.
🎢 After a fantastic morning of performances, students celebrated with an afternoon of fun at Hersheypark.

🎾 Huge congratulations to Chase Gerloff, our District III 3A Champion! 🏆 Representing Daniel Boone, Chase entered the PIAA District III Class 3A Boys Tennis Singles Tournament as the player to beat—and he absolutely delivered.
The sophomore rolled through four straight-set matches, capping off the two-day tourney on May 3rd with a dominant 6-1, 6-1 win over Ephrata’s Zach Keiper in the championship. 💪
Chase’s path to the title included:
✅ 6-1, 6-0 wins in the first two rounds
✅ A 6-0, 6-0 shutout in the semifinals over Dylan Bonds of Twin Valley
✅ Dropping just 3 games the entire tournament! 🔥

🎓 Celebrating Our Early College Academy Graduates! 🎓
Congratulations to Isabelle Kirtner and Alice Palumbo for completing the Early College Academy through Kutztown University! These outstanding students spent their senior year taking college-level courses on KU’s campus, earning up to 12 college credits before high school graduation — an incredible achievement!
Their names are now proudly displayed on a plaque in our Counseling Suite, serving as inspiration for future students who choose to challenge themselves through this unique dual enrollment opportunity.

Wednesday, April 30th marked our 3rd annual Kinder-Garden Day — a special tradition where the DBHS Ecology Club spends the day with our kindergartners!
Students rotated through five interactive stations, exploring the wonders of plants, pollination, and healthy eating. It was a fun and educational day full of hands-on learning, laughter, and growing minds 🌼🥕🐝

On April 19, 1969, Daniel Boone held its first-ever Junior-Senior Prom at the historic Sunnybrook Ballroom—a tradition that has stood the test of time. Just check out those classic white tuxedos, elegant long gloves, and timeless style!
Fast forward to today: our 2025 prom is happening this Saturday, May 3rd—once again at Sunnybrook! We can't wait to see how the fashions have evolved since that night 56 years ago. 👗✨🎶
