Last week, our ninth grade students in the Freshman Leadership Network class participated in the Berks Business Education Coalition’s Higher Education Experience — an incredible opportunity to explore life after high school!

Students visited one of five local higher education institutions: Albright College, Alvernia University, Berks Technical Institute, Penn State Berks, or Reading Area Community College. The day included an informational session, a guided campus tour, and even lunch provided by the host schools.

We are proud to be one of eighteen Berks County school districts participating in this valuable program, helping our students explore future pathways and begin thinking about their goals beyond graduation. 🎓✨ #BooneProud

In honor of National Children’s Dental Health Month, Mrs. Griffith — our District Wellness Coordinator (also known around here as the 🦷✨ Tooth Fairy!) — made a special visit to the Primary Center!

She spent time with our students sharing the importance of healthy dental habits, from brushing and flossing to making smart snack choices. To help keep those bright smiles shining, every student received a toothbrush to take home!

Thank you, Mrs. Griffith, for helping our students build healthy habits that last a lifetime! 😁🪥 #BooneProud

🎉📚🎨 Primary Center Family Encore Night 🎶🏀💻

Last week, our Primary Center hosted a Family Encore Night, giving families the chance to experience the Encore classes our students enjoy during the school day. Families traveled through five Encore stations, each highlighting hands-on activities tied to our curriculum.

💻 STEM: Families worked together to code and program Bee-Bots, watching them follow their planned paths.
🏀 Physical Education: Indoor bowling, scooters, parachutes, and more kept everyone moving and smiling.
🎨 Art: Students and families painted beautiful winter scenes.
🎶 Music: Songs with movement filled the room—the scarf song was a hit with both kids and adults!
📚 Library: Families enjoyed Book Bingo (with a math twist!) and went home with a book to keep.

We were also thrilled to have Miss Amber, Director of the Boone Area Library, partner with Mrs. Latimer, our Primary Center librarian, to share information about upcoming community events at the Boone Area Library.

Family Encore Night offered a fun and meaningful glimpse into our Encore programs and the engaging learning happening every day at the Primary Center.

👏 Thank you to Mrs. Latimer (Library), Mrs. Snyder (Music), Mr. Steinman (Art), Mrs. Housel (STEM), and Ms. Rehrer (Physical Education) for making this evening such a success!

Congratulations to Chase Yenser, who received the 2025 Penta Memorial Award—an award presented to a Berks County golfer who best represents the values of sportsmanship, citizenship, and friendship. This prestigious honor is voted on by Berks County golf coaches, making it an especially meaningful recognition of Chase’s character both on and off the course.

Chase continues a proud Boone tradition, joining past Daniel Boone recipients including his brother, Colton Yenser (2020), and Bret Stamy (1999).

🕰️ Throwback Thursday: Birdsboro’s Second High School – The Roosevelt Building | Part 2 🕰️

81 years ago, the only sports at Birdsboro High School were Boys Basketball (team picture shown here), Baseball, Bowling, Cheerleading, and Cross Country. Back then, the school called themselves the “Birds.” Other activities included Band, Debate Team, Glee Club, Hi-Y, and History Club.

If you could bring back one club from 1945, what would it be? 🏫

💡 Did you know?
In 1943 and 1944, Birdsboro High School cross country runner Tony DaDamino won back-to-back State Championships!

💙✨ A strong start to the season!

On Saturday, January 31, our high school indoor color guard traveled to Spring-Ford Area High School to compete in the Mid-Atlantic Indoor Network’s first show of the season—and what a debut it was!

The team delivered an amazing first performance and earned 3rd place out of 10 groups in their division. Their hard work, dedication, and talent were on full display, and this is just the beginning.

The sky’s the limit for this incredible group! 🌟

💙🤝 Giving back in a big way!

Yesterday, members of our Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter volunteered at Helping Harvest, lending a hand to fight food insecurity right here in Berks County and surrounding areas.

The group—13 students and 2 advisors—helped sort food donations that will be distributed to families in need. Helping Harvest is part of the Feeding Pennsylvania network, which also happens to be PAFBLA’s current statewide fundraising partner, making this experience even more meaningful.

We’re proud of our students for leading with service and compassion. 💙
