🚀 A huge THANK YOU to the Teacher Mini Grants Fund of Berks County Community Foundation for sponsoring a teacher mini-grant to purchase an Air Tunnel for Parachute Engineering Design Challenge for our Middle School STEM program! 🎉 Thanks to their generosity, students in Mrs. Worrell's class used the engineering design process to build and test mini parachutes—learning all about gravity, air resistance, and surface area in a fun, hands-on way. 🪂💨 The grant also provided the extra supplies needed—kite string, tape, scissors, and more—to bring these creative designs to life. We’re excited to see future STEM adventures with this new addition! 💡🔧 #STEMeducation #EngineeringDesign #BerksCountyCommunityFoundation #Gratitude #HandsOnLearning #FutureEngineers

Class of 2025 Through the Years
🔦 Blazer Legacy Spotlight 🔦 As we wrap up the school year, we’re proud to celebrate three incredible members of our extended DBASD family who are retiring after years of dedicated service to our schools and students. 💙 Gary Ingham has been a fixture at the Middle School since the building opened in 2005, proudly supporting our school through his work with SSC Services for Education. His steady presence and behind-the-scenes work have helped keep our building running smoothly for nearly two decades. 💙 Jeanne Koch, a valued member of The Nutrition Group, has been keeping students fueled and cared for at the Middle School for the past 25 years. Her kindness, consistency, and warm smile have made the cafeteria a welcoming place for generations of Blazers. 💙 Nancy Kramer began her time at Boone in 2020 and continued with Krise Transportation when they became our provider in 2022. Nancy’s commitment to getting students to and from school safely has been deeply appreciated. They’ve truly been part of our Blazer family, and their presence will be missed. Congratulations, Gary, Jeanne, and Nancy! We wish you all the best in your well-earned retirement! 🎉

#TBT to the Class of 1983 🎓 Straight from the yearbook: “FRIENDS—we have made it! Our metamorphosis is complete…” The Class of 1983 captured the very heart of what high school is all about: friendship. From weekend hangouts to quiet talks, from laughter to tears, their reflections remind us that long after the tests and textbooks fade, it’s the friendships that last forever. As we count down to graduation day for the Class of 2025, may they carry the same love, laughter, and lifelong connections into their next chapter. 💫 #BooneProud #Classof1983 #TimelessFriendship #CountdownTo2025

FRIENDS We have made it! Our metamorphosis is complete...an impossibility without the help of so many whose faces blurred along the way. The 1983 Senior class will always remember the years together, our times at DB and most of all, we will remember our friends....FRIENDS A shoulder to cry on, an ear which to bend, money to be borrowed, clothes that are lent. Those Saturday night parties, late afternoon walks, just being together, having our private talks. Mending our hearts, while crying those tears, planning our futures, voicing our fears. These memories together, from friend to friend, will be always together, eternally friends!

🎓 Blazer Legacy Spotlight: Barb Young 🎓 Celebrating 26 remarkable years of teaching, compassion, and community impact. Barb Young is more than a math teacher and self-proclaimed “math geek"—she's a force of good in the lives of 3,300+ students, colleagues and the DB community. ✨ Unforgettable Moment : “The impact we made with Relay For Life of Daniel Boone.” From 2011 to 2022, Barb helped raise over $1 million to fight cancer. Even during COVID, the mission never stopped. “There’s nothing like walking the survivor lap surrounded by students, friends, and family.” 🙌 Through teaching, Barb says she grew too: “I’m more empathetic. I’ve learned how one person can make a difference every day.” While she taught math, she focused on life lessons: “Being a good, productive human is more important than any one subject. College isn’t for everyone—we need people in trades, too. What we make doesn’t define our worth.” 💬 What she hopes students remember: “That I challenged them to think about math differently, to think critically, and to care. And I hope I’ve shown how to face adversity with strength and grace.” 🔥 Highlight Reel: Relay For Life of DB Great Adventure trips Teaching the kids of former students Watching students return to teach here Prom, lifelong friendships, visits from grads Those moments when the “lightbulb” comes on 🌍 What’s next? Traveling during the school year—and finally seeing the world without worrying about substitute plans.
