🎉 Blazer Legacy Spotlight: Anita Brady 🎉 Celebrating 21 years of learning, laughter, and love—2 years in Kindergarten and 19 unforgettable years in 1st grade! For over two decades, Anita Brady has been a joyful and steady presence in the lives of Daniel Boone’s youngest learners. With a heart full of patience and a classroom full of curiosity, Anita helped her students build strong foundations—not just in reading and math, but in confidence, kindness, and resilience. 📚 One of her favorite memories? “The year I looped with my Kindergarten class to 1st grade! Day 1 was a breeze—we all knew what to expect from each other.” That unique experience brought extra joy and connection, a hallmark of Anita’s teaching approach. 🏥 Blazer Legacy Spotlight: Beth Haines 🏥 Celebrating 40 years of compassionate care—6 of them right here at Daniel Boone! After two decades serving students in Illinois and the last 6 years as a school nurse at Daniel Boone Area School District, Beth Haines is retiring with an incredible 40 years of nursing experience. She brought a wealth of knowledge, a deep well of empathy, and a great sense of humor to the halls of the Intermediate Center. Beth reflects: “Each day is full of new comments or situations that make me giggle. The kids say the darndest things that warm your heart! I came to DB with a lot of experience, but I quickly realized there’s always more to learn. I’ve learned so much here.” Known for being a safe space, a steady hand, and a true advocate, Beth has helped countless students and staff through everything from scraped knees to more serious challenges—with grace, encouragement, and often a bit of laughter. 💡 What she’ll remember most: The long line of students outside her door (some with real ailments, some just needing a moment) The meaningful conversations with parents, offering calm reassurance Encouraging staff and answering medical questions with patience and care Teaching puberty classes and hygiene basics (with humor and empathy!) The unforgettable moments—tears, triumphs, giggles—and making every child feel seen, safe, and supported 🎉 A personal highlight? 🎓 Blazer Legacy Spotlight: Susan Fulmer 🎓 Celebrating 30 years of heart, history, and helping students find their path! After 4 years as a dedicated substitute and 26 years of teaching, Sue Fulmer is closing a meaningful chapter at Daniel Boone Area School District. Over the decades, Sue has done more than teach history—she’s made it, building a legacy of compassion, connection, and community involvement. One of Sue’s favorite memories? The pure joy on the faces of elementary students during the annual Seuss Show—especially when the “rain song” starts and they get an unexpected splash of fun! 🌧️📚 Sue reflects: “Daniel Boone has provided me with the opportunity to grow as both a teacher and a person through all of my experiences with students and colleagues. 🎉 Blazer Legacy Spotlight: Pat Smith 🎉 Celebrating 21 years of dedication, laughter, and learning! From computer lab to math intervention, Pat Smith has left a meaningful mark on the Daniel Boone Area School District. Over the past 21 years—10 as a computer teacher at the Middle School and Primary Center and 11 as a K–1 Math Interventionist—Pat’s impact has reached across generations. Some of her favorite memories include Trick or Treat nights at the high school, the end-of-year graduate parade through the Primary Center, and older students mentoring younger ones. But one moment will always shine brightest—when the entire Primary Center surprised her with a celebration for her 60th birthday. 💙 Pat reflects on the power of community connections and relationships: from math groups to casual chats at pickup, she’s built bonds that have shaped her both professionally and personally. Her goal has always been to instill a love of learning and to support every child as a whole person—academically and emotionally. 📽️ Highlight reel moments: The call from MaryAnn Traynor saying “you’re hired!” Aides like Debbie, Tina, Alison, and Sandy who made that first year unforgettable The long drives up Route 422 (always hoping for no lane closures!) 📘 Blazer Legacy Spotlight: Lorraine Stagg 🔬🎉 After more than 25 years of teaching science at Daniel Boone High School, Lorraine Stagg is closing the lab notebook and heading into a well-earned retirement — leaving behind a legacy filled with curiosity, chaos, and heart. From dead rat dissections to skeleton jump scares, Lorraine’s science classroom was always full of energy (and maybe a bit of a smell!). Whether it was Jeff Berger moonwalking out of her classroom during a lab observation, stairwell munchkin ambushes by Ebling and Mentzer or Werley accidentally (on purpose) scaring her for the 100th time, she greeted it all with laughter, passion, and an unshakable love for teaching. But Lorraine’s legacy goes far beyond memorable lab mishaps and laughs. “My students and my colleagues have had a profound impact on helping to shape the person I am today. They’ve been an integral part of my life in so many ways. I treasure the friendships I have forged throughout the years, and the many wonderful people I’ve met in education — it’s been an incredible journey.” That journey inspired her own daughter, now a senior at Kutztown University majoring in secondary English education, to follow in her footsteps. Lorraine hopes her students always felt how much she cared, and took away something beyond just science: “There’s so much more in life to learn — be a lifelong learner. Be observers, ask questions, find answers, work hard at something you love. Most importantly, care about others.” 🎬 Her highlight reel? Dissections gone sideways, a classroom known for its unique smell, and countless joyful, meaningful moments with the colleagues and students who’ve meant so much over the years. 💗 In retirement, Lorraine looks forward to spending time with her grandchildren and family — and pretending to enjoy fishing with her husband. 🎣 Lorraine, thank you for the laughter, learning, and legacy. 📘 Blazer Legacy Spotlight: Celebrating Kellei Graul 🌟 After 31 incredible years as a 5th grade teacher, Kellei Graul is closing her classroom door — but her impact at Daniel Boone will live on for generations. A Boone graduate herself, Kellei returned to the district that shaped her to give back in the most meaningful way: by educating and inspiring young Blazers. 💙🤍 From Field Day fun to the unforgettable 5th grade vs. teachers volleyball games and heartfelt Recognition Ceremonies, Kellei cherished the events that brought students and staff together as one strong school community. “Working here has continued to make me Blazer Proud. I’m proud to be a Blazer!” In her classroom, students were encouraged to laugh, learn, and imagine — guided by her classroom pledge: 👉 “Laughing and Learning.” 👉 “Filling our Files” with facts and knowledge. 👉 “Use your Imagination” all the time! As she retires, Kellei hopes her legacy is one of kindness, care, and joy — for her students and her colleagues. 📸 Blazer Legacy Spotlight: Alison Danner Today, we celebrate Alison Danner, who is retiring after 17 impactful years with the Daniel Boone Area School District. Originally hired as an Autistic Support Aide, Alison also served as a Learning Support and Instructional Aide, always working to support and empower our students. Alison’s favorite memories include the legendary, laughter-filled staff scavenger hunts, and the joy of working in a collaborative environment where student success always came first. She shared, “My hope is that I’ve instilled confidence and coping skills in students, and that they know we’re here to help them through any obstacles they may face.” She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and compassion—and the gratitude of countless students, families, and amazing colleagues who she was lucky enough to work alongside of over the years. 🥁 Blazer Legacy Spotlight: Celebrating Pete Denunzio 🎉 After 27 years of dedicated teaching in the Daniel Boone Area School District, Pete Denunzio is hanging up his whiteboard marker — and maybe picking up a pair of drumsticks! 🥁 Pete spent his entire career teaching 4th and 5th grade, leaving a lasting mark on hundreds of students with his humor, compassion, and commitment to helping kids grow — not just academically, but as kind, respectful people. One of his favorite memories? The first day of school, every single year — watching students walk into the classroom with wide eyes, nervous energy, and endless potential. “That excitement reminded me of my own childhood and kept me grounded in the ‘why’ behind what I do,” Pete says. Pete credits the amazing students, families, and colleagues at DB for shaping who he is today. His goal every day was simple: help students become better people than they were when they walked through the door — and judging by the laughs, high fives, and endless elbow bumps, he delivered. As he steps away from the classroom, Pete has one request for Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, or Aerosmith: “Call me — I’m ready for the world tour!” (Your move, rock legends! 🎸) Thank you, Pete, for 27 unforgettable years of heart, humor, and impact. Over the years, Tracey worked closely with Learning Support students—offering consistent encouragement, guidance, and support. One of her most cherished memories? The joyful tears that came when a struggling reader finally got it—a moment she says never lost its magic. 💙 Through her work, Tracey learned to embrace change, cherish what can be controlled, and always keep faith in the journey. Her motto: If you believe you have the best job in the building—it becomes true. And that’s exactly how she showed up each and every day. Her “highlight reel” would be filled with unforgettable moments alongside Life Skills students, whose strength, spirit, and smiles left a lasting impact. With 19 years of service to the Daniel Boone Area School District, Ang’s impact has been felt across every corner of the district. From building sub to teacher, instructional coach to administrator, and most recently serving as our Chief Academic Affairs Officer, Ang has worn many hats—and worn them all with passion, purpose, and heart. A proud Blazer through and through—Ang attended DBASD as a student, raised her children here, and worked alongside her fellow Boone grads (including her husband!). She reflects fondly on classroom memories, the magic of school year traditions, and the meaningful relationships formed along the way.
