Nutrition for Life is an event to welcome your child into the cafeteria, make them feel special and introduce them to the tastiest half hour of the day! September 17, 18, 19 Students are invited to try a complimentary breakfast and lunch. A special dining event to help your child learn how school lunch works. Yesterday, Mrs. Kennedy’s 3rd grade class took a hands-on approach to learning about Monarch butterflies by planting milkweed seeds outside! 🌱🦋 The students, who are currently observing Monarch caterpillars in their classroom, learned that these beautiful butterflies are almost endangered and only lay their eggs on milkweed. Eager to make a difference, they wrote to DBAIC Principal, Mr. Isselmann, requesting permission to plant milkweed at the school. This initiative will provide a crucial food source and breeding ground for the Monarchs. We hope that next year, the students will see the fruits of their efforts and witness the Monarchs thriving! 🌼🦋 #ButterflyConservation #HandsOnLearning #BooneProud

Attendance Matters Missing a day of school here and there may not seem like much, but absences add up! When a student misses 2 days a month...they will miss 20 days a year, they will miss 30 hours of math over the school year, they will miss 60 hours of reading and writing over the school year, they will miss over 1 year of school by graduation. When a student misses 4 days a month...they will miss 40 days a year, they will miss 60 hours of math over the school year, they will miss 120 hours of reading and writing over the school year, they will miss over 2 years of school by graduation.
